IN YOUR SHOES is an interactive foray through the normality of others. In this case, the sequence Damascus/HH, everyday life in war-torn Damascus and post-war Hamburg is made tangible by means of so-called point-of-view technology. For almost ten years, Syria has stood for destruction, death and flight in this country. Germany, on the other hand, is the epitome of security and freedom for many people in Syria. IN YOUR SHOES shows how little both perspectives have to do with reality.One of the participants, the Syrian filmmaker Alaa AboFarraj, lives in Damascus and is working on this digital experiment together with the media artist Sirwan Ali. The team is complemented by the virtual reality designer Lena Biresch and the journalists Julia Lauter and Holger Fröhlich.
